This will be our first meeting for the new fiscal year, so come out and get to know your fellow Safety Professionals and enjoy a great meal.

Tickets are $25 dollars and include barbecue, sides, etc.

AIHA’s newest Government Relations Team member, Riley Cagle, will present on the upcoming election cycle, federal and state action AIHA has taken recently, and how AIHA can better serve your needs as we all work to build healthier workplaces.

Policymakers in Virginia and throughout the United States constantly make decisions that impact your profession and the issues you care about. In the past, it’s taken a long time and a lot of work to keep track of everything they’re doing that affects workplace and community health and safety – but that’s about to change…

AIHA has created a government relations team in Virginia, and you’re invited to join! Each week, the Virginia team will receive a report on legislation and regulations in your State that includes engaging graphics and powerful research tools that equip you with the knowledge you need to decide what issues you want to act on and how you respond to government actions. Sometimes, you’ll want to meet with policymakers; other times, you’ll want to send them a letter or invite them to speak with your group. Alternatively, you might decide to take no action at all – the choice is yours, and AIHA is here to provide you with situational awareness and training to demystify arcane government terms and legislative and regulatory procedures.

The upcoming presidential elections highlight the importance of this advocacy and awareness, and AIHA is here to give you the scoop on federal and state election updates in 2024. These elections will decide much about the future of Congress, the presidency, and the nation.

AIHA is taking action on the pressing federal and state issues that are changing the landscape of our industry and is excited to share updates on those actions!
